Welcome To Our P5/6 Class

P5/6 have been enjoying their numeracy topic on Length. They recently took their learning outdoors to measure areas and objects around the school grounds.

As part of our ‘Look out’ topic, we carried out a floating and sinking experiment using our own hand-crafted Viking Knarr ships. In our groups, we added different weights to our ships to find out which boat could carry the most cargo. A very enjoyable activity!

World Book Day 2022

To end our World War 2 topic ‘Friend or Foe’ Primary 5 and 6 had a very enjoyable and informative trip to the Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum in Belfast. Pupils took part in a range of interactive activities, workshops and quizzes throughout the day. Pupils loved getting out on a school trip again!

On Thursday, we celebrated the end of our WW2 topic with morning tea. We sat together, sang songs and had some lovely scones with jam and cream. They were very tasty!!

World War ll

Summary of topic:

This term, Primary 5 and 6 are learning about WWll. They have been learning about evacuation, Anderson shelters, The Blitz and much more.

Below are pictures of the planes P5/6 made after learning about Spitfires and Bombers. They also made an ejector seat using cups, tubbing and syringes. The best part for all was testing how far the plane and ejector seat could travel.
