When considering which children should be selected for admission, the Board of Governors will take into account information which is detailed on the application or provided directly to the school. Parents should therefore ensure that all information pertaining to their child and relevant to the school’s admissions criteria is stated on the application or provided directly to the school.
ADMISSIONS CRITERIA TO BE USED IN THE EVENT OF THE SCHOOL BEING OVERSUBSCRIBED. THE CRITERIA ARE LISTED IN ORDER OF PRIORITY.
During the admissions procedure when applying the criteria punctual applications will be considered before late applications are considered.

Children who are of compulsory school age.

Sibling already attending school (including half-brothers/sisters, step brothers/sisters, foster brothers/sisters).

Children who are first in the family.

Child whose parent/guardian or grandparent is a past pupil of the school.

Children of permanent employees of the school.

Children whose address is closest to the pedestrian gate as measured in a straight line on an O.S. Map.

Parents should note that where an address contained within an application qualifies it for admission, then that address may require verification.

Knockahollet PS does not operate a Waiting List Policy.

Children whose admission to the school would not, in the opinion of the Governors, adversely affect the provision of efficient education to, or safety of the other children in the school.

Children whose admission to school will not prejudice the efficient use of school resources.

Children who along with their parents accept the aims of the school and the school’s Pastoral Policies.

Children of parents moving into the area.

Children moving into a class of more than 28 children will be admitted to the school at the discretion of the Governors.
